There are 3 ways to submit an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) request:
The easiest way to request an Interlibrary Loan is to look up the desired item in our library search:
To the left of the search results, select “Libraries Worldwide” to include results that are not in our library:
Click on the title to get to the record; there is a box on the right listing access options. Click on the blue button that says “Request Item through Interlibrary Loan”:
You’ll have to login with your UNBC username and password (the same ones you use to login to your UNBC email), and then you will be directed to our new form:
The citation information should be automatically pulled into the form.
Under "Cancel if not received by", enter the latest date the item will be useful to you. If you have any notes or comments, please enter them in the "Comments" box.
If you are requesting a physical item, choose your pickup location and let us know your edition preference.
Remote students/staff/faculty should also enter their mailing address.
Then click on Submit request at the bottom of the page.
Another convenient way to request an item through ILL is to click the "Get it @ UNBC" button ( ) when you are in a database. To learn more about this button, click here.
You can also manually fill out one of the ILL forms. You can access these from the ILL website or from your library account.
From the ILL website:
From the "Requests" tab in your library account:
Make sure to choose the correct form: article or book chapter scan, book request, or other types of material (used for media, theses, conference proceedings, etc). Enter as much information as you can!
