For Northern Medical Program students and faculty/physicians, we recommend that you search for articles and books in the following steps:

  1. Check for availability at UBC, either electronically or in print, before proceeding to step two. Note: you may also check to see if UNBC has the book or journal and holdings available in print or electronic, if you cannot obtain the citation via UBC electronically.
  2. If the item is available in print at UBC (and not available at UNBC), please use the UBC Document Delivery service to order the item. Choose the UNBC-NMP button as the pick up location in the online form. Please check availability at UBC before proceeding to step three.
  3. Finally, if the item is not available via UBC Document Delivery, please place an order via UNBC’s ILL service.

Items ordered through any of the above methods may be picked up at UNBC’s Library Services Desk. Upon automated notification of arrival from UBC or UNBC, please allow 24 hours before pick-up.

Notes for NMP Clerkship Students and Faculty/Physicians:

For students and faculty/physicians located at University Hospital of Northern British Columbia (UHNBC), if an order is placed via UBC Document Delivery or UNBC Interlibrary Loans, normally the item/s are delivered to UNBC Library for pick up at the Library Services Desk. However, you may specify that we forward any items to you at the 5th floor of UHNBC. Choose the UNBC-NMP button as the pick up location and please specify in the notes field of the online request: “Please forward to UHNBC”.
