Do you keep reaching this message?

If so, you likely have a citation manager extension in your browser that is automatically changing the links.

Here's how to turn this feature off in Zotero:

  1. In your browser's Extensions menu, click the three dots to the right of the Zotero Connector extension, and choose Options from the menu list
A screenshot of the extensions list in Chrome. The menu for the Zotero Connector extension is open and a red arrow is pointing to the Options menu item
  2. Open the Proxies tab and uncheck the box for "Enable proxy redirection"
A screenshot of the Zotero extension's Options screen. The Proxies tab is open, and a red arrow points to the check box beside "Enable proxy redirection." This check box is unchecked.

Other citation managers may have the same functionality; you can search their help documents for information on any proxy settings the extension may have.

You should now be able to access library resources through our new authentication system, OpenAthens!

Zotero has more information on the proxies menu, and we've created a guide introducing OpenAthens, including instructions for creating working links.

If this doesn't fix the problem, please contact us and include a screenshot of the error page, and the URL of the page where you found the link that's redirecting you to that error.
